The Posters are Coming! The Posters are Coming!

Check out the 2013 Harvestfest poster, designed by the very talented Darren Mason!

It tells you what you need to know about Harvestfest: live music, awesome local food and drink (provided by Mercury Brewing of Ipswich), activities for kids, cooking demonstrations... and stay tuned for more exciting events as the festival approaches. And you, readers of the Rockport Festivals news feed, are the first to catch a glimpse of the new poster, since they are just hot off the press as of this week. To reserve yours, send us an email at rockportfestivals@gmail.com.

See you at Harvestfest on October 19th!

July 6th (TOMORROW!) at the Farmers' Market!

We're looking forward to another great summer market tomorrow! Look for the vendors listed below, and plan to pick up everything from fresh bread to fresh produce to maple syrup.

We're happy to welcome Wally's Blackburn Bistro to the roster this week. Wally's offers freshly made salsa and guacamole, packaged and ready to take home, as well as a great selection of salads and more.

Marvin Roberts, PhD, with the head of a rhubarb plant

Gardener and botanist Marvin Roberts will be back to answer your questions and lead a discussion at the market's Garden Talk, set for 11 a.m. The last two weeks Marvin's rhubarb has sold out in minutes, and rumor has it that there is a possibility that he is bringing berries, assuming the stars align, to tomorrow's market.
See you there!

Mini Motif Scavenger Hunt

A very creative staff member at Toad Hall Bookstore: a living Motif!
One of the more recent Motif No. 1 Day traditions is the Mini Motif Scavenger Hunt, where small versions of the Motif (with creative license of course) are placed all over town. Festival-goers are given a sheet of clues and sent off to find each Motif. It changes from year to year (though a few favorites will always be found) and there have been mini Motifs made of steel, paper mache, wire, driftwood, twigs, painted plywood -- and one year there was a Motif with superhero figures attached to it! A classic version is the living Motif outside of Toad Hall (okay, that one doesn't really need a clue in order for you to find it). Impressive!

Make sure you plan to take part in this year's Scavenger Hunt on Saturday, May 19th, and if you are feeling creative and want to contribute a mini Motif to the hunt, send us an e-mail! rockportfestivals@gmail.com
