Lots to do for kids and their families on Motif No. 1 Day this year!
The Paper Mermaid on Main Street is hosting a Puppet Show this year - one with a sea theme, which is just perfect for Rockport of course. This will take place at 11 & 11:30 am, and again at 2 & 2:30 pm.
A few more events for children: a very artistic approach to face-painting will take place from 1 to 4 pm in in the Kids' Art Zone in Harvey Park where fun activities for kids (a Lobster Toss, Draw-on-the-Motif and more) will be going on all day.
Rockport Music is hosting an Instrument Petting Zoo from 10:30 to Noon. Children will be able to experience holding different instruments with the guidance of professional musicians.
The Annual Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest takes place throughout downtown, with fun (ice cream!) prizes for the winners in each category: Family, Adult, Child, & Teen. And even if you don't play to win, it's always fun to draw on the sidewalk! We even have a few illustrious Rockport judges joining us for this one... Oh yes - we can't forget the feature of the Sidewalk Chalk Art: artist Tina LaMond will create an interactive chalk mural, creating a big picture of the Motif - with your help of course!
