Inspired by Cape Ann? Tell us about it!

Motif No. 1 Day offers more than just painting, drawing and music. The festival will also feature Rockport's literary heritage through our Words Before Dinner event, featuring local authors reading from their work. Writers making an appearance include Rockport's poet laureate, Ruth Maassen, and poet laureate emeritus, Suellen Wedmore, as well as Paul St. Germain signing his new book on Thacher Island.

As part of the Words Before Dinner event, we are calling for original poems inspired by the artistic heritage and landscape of Rockport and Cape Ann. Upon submission, you may be asked to read your poem at the Words Before Dinner event on Motif No. 1 Day, which will take place from 5 to 6 pm at the Old Firehouse Trust. It will be a great way to bring the festival to a close before heading to dinner, the Rockport Music concert (6:00 pm) or the Old Sloop Coffeehouse (7:30 pm)

Join us in honoring yet another vibrant aspect of Rockport's arts community!
